Editorial: The confessions of Lindsay Lohan

The little girl from Parent Trap that we all fell in love with is all grown up and graces the cover of September’s 2010 Vanity Fair Issue… We didn’t like what we saw the past years… a let-down, another Britney-like train-wreck… the accusations piled up and the blond-redhair-brunette chameleon, Lindsay Lohan, never managed to step-up. The Vanity Fair interview was a perfectly scripted confess-and-reform publicity stunt with the added irony of her starting to serve her jail sentence days later. Any reader must have had the “I’ve heard it all before” feeling, when she expressed thoughts, such as “I want my career back. I know that I’m a damn good actress, and it’s been my passion since I was a child, and I know that when I care about something, I put 100 percent and more into it. … I want the respect that I had when I was doing great movies.” The reality is though that she is a more than a pretty damn good actress… She is an icon without even trying… The once-more Marilyn Monroe – inspired photo shoot on the Sovereign yacht by Vanity Fair has captured that best… the photographs are inspirational, they are timeless and they reflect the sparkle in her eye that still can mesmerize nations. We truly hope she gets herself in order and become the role model she can be…
