Fashion’s night of nights has kicked off in New York City last night as the Met Ball Gala of 2013 celebrated the opening of the Metropolitan Museum’s yearly fashion exhibition at the Costume Institute.
Officially, the theme of this year’s Metropolitan Museum exhibit is “Punk: Chaos to Couture”. Invites to the opening night event were highly coveted who were expected to dress accordingly – but this time it seemed the stars felt a little too uncomfortable going grunge. Even the host Anna Wintour did not actually honored the theme as she choose a floral Chanel straight maxi dress.
While many opted for floaty dresses, Miley Cyrus in mesh Marc Jacobs and Cara Delevingne’s side plait have drawn the most attention so far. The most extravagant and into the concept appearance was of course…Sarah Jessica Parker’s who made the effort and rocked the style comments, as always!
